Is popular Cinema over shadowing the good cinema ?
well in my opinion it is’nt..as compared to the earlier times,Indian cinema has become way more experimental and open to new ideas…A lot of aspects of life which were considered a taboo to be discussed in the society are being taken up by the directors to basically broaden the horizon of the Indian audiences…And if you compare the popular cinema with the good cinema then one can find that there is a particular kind of audience which is increasing by the day which is committed to that kind cinema..
I think there’s always been an audience for people who want something more thought-provoking as opposed to popular. There is also a large audience for those who just want something for enjoyment and entertainment – something that isn’t complicated or stressful so they can simply escape their lives by watching films. I’d rather watch something good than popular, though just because something is popular doesn’t mean it’s not good! Ratatouille was pretty popular and I thought it was good :)
